Opening Doors to the Arts
At YATI, we believe that financial barriers should never prevent young people from accessing the arts. That’s why we created the StageDoor programme – a bursary scheme designed to support students from low-income backgrounds, enabling them to participate in our termly classes and holiday courses for free. Whether pursuing a career in the performing arts or simply seeking a creative outlet, Stagedoor provides life-changing opportunities for young people who might otherwise miss out.
Who is Eligible?
The Stagedoor programme is needs-based, meaning we do not have strict financial requirements to apply. We simply ask that you reach out if finances are preventing you from engaging with our classes and holiday courses. We welcome both new and returning members, especially if your financial circumstances have recently changed.
How to Apply
The application process is simple:

2. The form will ask for basic information, including details about your financial situation. You can provide as much or as little information as you feel comfortable with, but the more we know, the better we can understand your needs.
3. Submit the Form

Once completed, email the application to Naomi, our Creative Outreach & Inclusion Officer, at naomi@yati.org.uk. Please include any supporting documentation (dated within the last 3 months) that reflects your financial situation. This could include items like:

Application Review: A completed application does not guarantee funding. You must wait for confirmation before attending any classes under the Stagedoor programme.

Funding Period: Stagedoor funding is awarded for up to 1 academic year. All applications will be reviewed during the summer break.

Changing Needs: We cannot guarantee that you will receive funding in subsequent years. As financial situations change, funding amounts and eligibility may vary.

Non-transferable: Stagedoor funding is specific to the individual recipient and cannot be transferred to another person.

Classes Covered: Funding covers access to one weekly class or holiday course. If you wish to attend multiple classes or courses, please mention this in your application. Additional funding may be negotiable.
