A 12-week film-making course led by the awesome Derek Oppong, from Sept-Dec every Saturday 10.30-2.30pm, with an optional AQA film-making qualification at the end.
The course is aimed at people who are really interested in making their own films. It is designed to help you to develop your skills – how to take a cool idea, create a storyboard, cast, direct and produce your own film series. You will be taught professional film-making skills, including trade secrets, techniques and post-production, you will also know how to get the most out of a smartphone, so you can keep producing high-quality movies after the course. The course is being led by YATI with a video-production company, Chocolate films.
Students will also have their new movies published on YATI’s YouTube channel from Jan-March 2018. As we will be using social media, we want to explore the effect of social media or the mass media on our lives – but in a light-hearted, funny and clever way and use this theme to produce something positive, that will promote you as actors too.
Anyone aged 14-19 years old can join the course not just YATI members. Places are free although non-YATI members would need to pay the joining fee in September (£5 concessions – £10 full fee).
So make a 30-90 second film on a smartphone, upload it somewhere and just send a link to email@example.com. So we would love to see your ideas. But if you wish to submit something else, maybe even something that you have already made, then that is fine too. Really we are looking for potential, and most importantly people who can organise themselves!
